Job Opportunity: School Administrator - Make a Difference Every Day! Grade-2.3 £24796 (Pro rata) 32.5 hours per week, 40 Weeks a year Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm

Are you highly organised, a great communicator, and thrive in a busy environment? Do you have a passion for supporting education and ensuring a school runs smoothly?

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic School Administrator to join the heart of our vibrant primary school office team. This is a crucial role, providing essential administrative support to staff, pupils, and parents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Front Office Management: Acting as the first point of contact, managing telephone enquiries, emails, and welcoming visitors with a friendly and professional manner.

  • Administrative Support: Providing general administrative support to the Headteacher and teaching staff, including typing letters, preparing documents, and managing school correspondence.

  • Data Management: Maintaining accurate and confidential pupil and staff records using the school's management information system (MIS).

  • Financial Tasks (Basic): Processing invoices, assisting with school trip payments, Recording school meals and chasing outstanding fees (training provided).

Logistics: Managing incoming and outgoing mail, ordering stationary supplies, and ensuring the office is well-stocked and tidy. Any other Ad hoc duties.

Specific Areas of Focus:

A significant part of this role involves supporting the well-being and safeguarding of our pupils through efficient record-keeping, including:

  • Pupil Attendance: Diligently tracking and recording daily pupil attendance, following up on unexplained absences, and communicating with parents regarding attendance concerns.

  • School Lunch/Meal Management: Accurately recording daily school meal choices (e.g., universal free school meals, paid meals, packed lunches), processing relevant payments, and liaising with kitchen staff and parents as required.

Desirable Skills

Proven administrative or office experience.

Previous experience working within a school environment.

Excellent IT skills, particularly Google

Knowledge of school management information systems (e.g., SIMS).

Outstanding organisational and time-management abilities.

A strong understanding and practical knowledge of managing pupil attendance procedures.

A professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor.

Familiarity with school safeguarding and data protection (GDPR) procedures.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
