What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Understanding of academy child safeguarding procedures
  • Ability to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner and to recognise potential child safeguarding issues
  • Ability to analyse data and present in a clear and concise manner for a range of audiences
  • Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality in line with data protection
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing deadlines
  • Ability to use standard ICT packages including Microsoft Office and in particular Excel
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences, verbally and in writing
  • Experience in the use of educational management information systems, not essential as candidate will receive full training
  • Experience of assisting with or organising and running educational examinations but we would also welcome applications from anybody who is considering a change in career and feels they can learn quickly with a high level of support
  • Experience of working with management information and data collection
  • Willingness and ability to obtain and/or enhance qualifications and training and development in the post
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, or equivalent

Due to our current Officer relocating in February 2023, we require a new Exams and Assessment Officer to start in January 2023 to ensure a successful handover.

We are seeking to appoint an intelligent, enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our support team. Supported by a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data & Exams Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the running and administration of internal and external examinations and maintaining accurate student records.

You will be a highly organised and experienced administrator, have excellent communication skills, with the ability to remain composed in a busy environment. Strong IT skills specifically in Microsoft Office are essential and experience of SIMS would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided on all aspects of the role.

You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘Students First’. The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team is essential, as you will work alongside a team of exam invigilators. Experience of working in a similar role or environment would be an advantage, but we would also welcome applications from anybody who is considering a change in career and feels they can learn quickly with a high level of support.

Outwood Academy Bydales utilises OGAT’s established suite of pre-built analysis reporting tools; the successful candidate will be responsible for populating and maintaining these tools as part of raising student progress and achievement.

Outwood Academy Bydales is an 11-16 school located in the beautiful coastal village of Marske-by-the-Sea, close to the North York Moors National Park. We are extremely proud of our tradition of serving the families of the community of Marske and surrounding areas. The academy has been part of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, nationally recognised as a high performing academy chain, since September 2014. Our predecessor Bydales School was in special measures and joined Outwood Grange Academies Trust in February 2015. Since then the school has rapidly transformed. In 2018, alongside our Outstanding Ofsted judgement, students achieved incredible results with 89% securing 4+ in both English and Maths. Our Progress 8 and Attainment 8 scores were both the highest in the North East of England, at +0.75 and 59.1 respectively. Likewise, 77% of students securing at least a 5 in both English and Maths, was also the highest in the North East in 2018
