We are looking for a proactive skilled and people focused School Business Lead who will play a central role in keeping our school running smoothly every day. This role is essential to the financial health of the school and the effective management of our people processes. You will take the lead on managing the school budget, financial processing and HR operations, supported by Finance and HR experts in our central team.

Key Responsibilities

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

  • Lead and develop administrative, financial and support functions to meet current and future school needs.
  • Manage and motivate office staff, ensuring high standards, clear performance expectations, and a positive working culture.
  • Oversee quality assurance across all support functions, ensuring information systems and processes remain accurate, efficient and compliant.
  • Support the Headteacher and SLT with budget setting, monitoring and reporting, while managing allocated budgets effectively.
  • Lead procurement activity, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring best value.
  • Take ownership of personnel administration and take the lead in the school for HR, policies, procedures and compliance matters.
  • Resolve complex operational issues and ensure processes run smoothly across the school.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, colleagues, governors and external partners.

You will also contribute to the wider life of the school, undertake relevant CPD and maintain a positive, solutions‑focused approach in all aspects of your work.
