School Business Manager job summary

At present we are looking to recruit an Experience School Business Manager to manage the support functions within our school, the successful candidate will have worked within a primary school previously in a similar position. This role is a permanent opportunity and would suit someone who is looking for the chance to join a welcoming team of school office staff, working within a busy office environment.

In this role as Business Manager, you will be responsible for providing professional leadership and management of school support staff with overall responsibility for Finance, Administration, HR, Facilities Management and IT. You will be managing the school’s finances including budgeting, invoicing and petty cash, overseeing the administration team and liaising with school staff along with external agencies. The role will also involve aiding the strategic direction of the school including financial plans, change projects and procurement.

To be considered for the role

You will have proven experience of operational management within a school setting including finance, personnel, facilities and estates management, school administration, catering, ICT services and health and safety. You will need to be motivated and passionate and have excellent attention to detail. Be able to strategically plan and have strong administrative skills. Prior use or knowledge using school systems IT is essential.
