School Business Manager job summary
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, experienced and dynamic person for this senior position. The School Business Manager is the leading non-teaching member of staff and part of the senior leadership team. Reporting to the Headteacher, the post-holder manages the non-academic and non-pastoral activities of the school and provides sound information and analysis to the Headteacher and to the School Governors on financial and non-academic management issues.
Responsibilities include managing the school budget, ensuring financial systems are robust and implemented, preparation of the annual budget, the production of the school’s five-year business plans, managing the administrative team and ensuring the site is well maintained. The Business Manager maintains a close working relationship with Exeter College and the University of Exeter to ensure that services are coordinated and effective, and is responsible for maintaining a safe working environment.
The successful candidate will have strong credentials and relevant experience. They will be equally committed to all aspects of the role and with thrive in a varied role with significant responsibility. This post affords an excellent opportunity to work with a small, highly motivated team to establish an outstanding model of 6th form education, unique to this region.
