School caretaker job summary
Hours of work: 37 hours on split shift basis (6.30 – 9.30am then 2.30 – 6.30pm Mon-Fri inclusive) plus any additional or flexible hours required to meet the needs of the school in an emergency.
We are seeking to appoint a competent, reliable, dedicated and hardworking Caretaker to join our friendly school.
As a Caretaker at Stanhope Barrington CofE Primary School, you will make a difference in our school community on a daily basis by contributing to the provision of a high-quality learning environment.
The successful candidates will:
- Support the vision of the school.
- Ensure the smooth running of the school building.
- Be highly motivated and have good problem solving skills.
- Have awareness of health and safety, security and hygiene issues.
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the premises, including fixtures and fittings and furniture.
- Undertake inspections to ensure necessary safe operation and that the legislative requirements are met.
- Carry out any cleaning duties required both in school and on the school grounds.
- Enjoy working as part of a team, be adaptable and supportive of colleagues.
- Have excellent organisation and communication skills.
- To manage the day to day work allocation of cleaners
- To take part in statutory training and any continuous professional development deemed necessary by the Head Teacher
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
