School Crossing Patroller job summary
We are looking to recruit a reliable and committed individual to be part of our small school team in this new position.
Monday to Friday 7.55am to 8.45pm, and 3.15pm to 4.00pm (8 hours per week)
Actual annual salary £4,470.89
Term time only plus one inset day
Fixed term to 31.03.2025 in the first instance (possibly extended if funding continues)
You will be required to ensure the safety of children and pedestrians crossing the road to and from North Crawley CE School, whilst also supporting the safety of older children in the village to use their school transport.
You will need good communication skills, patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
The ideal candidate would be someone who:
- Is confident and able to safely operate the school crossing point and the highway code, and willing to carry out their duties in any weather.
- Is able to provide road safety awareness skills to children and adults through demonstrating best practice and reminding of road safety messages or advice.
- Is able to make and maintain good relationships with the children, their families and the local community.
- Is flexible, enthusiastic, energetic and shares the values of the school.
