The Cherwell School is a successful comprehensive school in Oxford, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. We are a leading school in terms of the number of students using their bikes to travel to and from school, with many of them using the Marston Ferry Road cycle track. We are very proud of this and believe cycling to school to be in the best interests of the majority of our students.
Travelling to school in this way does carry risks however, so the purpose of this role is to enhance the safety of our students as they arrive and leave school via the Marston Ferry Road cycle track. The School Cycle Marshal will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure control over the arrival and departure of students and to encourage appropriate and safe behaviour on the cycle track.
If you would like to have an informal discussion about this position please call our HR department on 01865 558719.
The closing date for applications is Monday 11th December 2023 at 9.00am

The Cherwell School is a high performing and oversubscribed comprehensive school in Oxford (approximately 2,000 students on roll, including 680 in the Sixth Form). We are delighted that we were judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted (October 2022), as we feel this is a fair reflection of the school, not least as we recognize that we have the capacity to develop and improve further. We consider ourselves to be a school which has at its heart “opportunity, responsibility, excellence” and we aim to make this a deeper reality for all of our students and staff in the years to come.
