About the School
The St Marylebone CE Bridge School (SMBS) is a special secondary school for 11-16 year old students with speech, language and communication needs. We are a small school with 72 students. Our students have a diverse range of needs including developmental language disorder, autism spectrum disorder, selective mutism, social communication difficulties, speech disorder, hearing impairment and dysfluency.
We aim to create an environment in which our students can achieve their maximum educational and social potential so that they are prepared for adulthood. Speech and Language Therapists play a core role in school life, supporting students and families directly as well as working closely with education staff to create a specialised learning environment.
In September 2022, the school relocated to a fantastic brand-new, purpose-built building designed to support our students’ unique needs. This role is integral to maintaining our facilities and ensuring resources are managed effectively to support learning.
