Finance Officer Person Specification
Preferably a degree -
ideally in Accounting and Finance or a related discipline, or
qualification such ACCA or equivalent – fully qualified or working towards,
Experience over time
working in a Finance role
experience within a school, or in a relevant field outside education
including the management, development and operation of admin systems and
Use of ICT including
Excel, SIMS, FMS and other dedicated finance management information systems
administering budget and financial matters in a school or other organisation
Experience of data protection
Expert knowledge of financial management
management skills and the ability to process multiple tasks and meet
Ability to build
effective working relationships with staff and other stakeholders
High standards of
professionalism and confidentiality
promoting the ethos and values of the school and getting the best outcomes
for all pupils

Willing to undertake
additional duties as and when required to ensure the successful operation of
exciting opportunity has arisen at Tatworth Primary School for a School Finance
Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will have some experience of
working in a School and the FMS system, to ensure that all systems and
procedures are effectively administered in accordance with financial
regulations and other agreed school policies.
We take an active role in our local safeguarding network in line with the contextual safeguarding recommendations of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022.
We maintain a vigilant culture to build up a broad picture as possible of factors affecting our children both in and outside of school. We work closely with other professionals either directly, or signpost support, so that we can meet the needs of our children and their family (if necessary).
Our vigilant approach, together with working with other professionals, enables us to target support through identification of any local social conditions that may affect children’s welfare.
