School First Aider & Teaching Assistant


We are seeking to appoint a confident, caring and organised person to join our team in the role of School First Aider and Teaching Assistant. This role will require applicants to assess the medical and welfare needs of students and staff and administer front-line First Aid. The successful candidate will ensure that the pupils with ongoing medical needs are supported in school in line with their Individual Health Care Plans, administer approved medication to students and maintain records and reports, including those for statutory requirements. This will include treatment for Type 1 diabetics in school and a child who has milk feeds via a Gastro-tube. Prior medical training is not required – appropriate training will be provided.

You will be working in a very effective and friendly team of TAs that support the educational, personal and social needs of our most vulnerable pupils in and out of lessons. The ideal candidate will have an excellent level of literacy and numeracy, be enthusiastic and have the ability to form good working relationships with children. Full support and induction will be provided.Visits to our school are encouraged.
