What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a dedicated Governor to join our supportive and collaborative team. We are seeking someone with professional experience, gained in any sector, who is passionate about the role that education can play in changing the lives of young people. Our governors are from a range of backgrounds and work closely with the school leadership team, they are responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, policies, and overall performance of our school.

What the school offers its staff

  • A governor induction programme
  • Excellent ongoing governor and education CPD
  • Friendly and supportive environment, where everyone is committed to a Work/Volunteer/Life Balance
  • Access to resources and materials to support governance

Further details about the role

Make a difference to young people in your community - be a school governor!

School governors are members of our local community who care about our school and the young people we support. Governors don’t get involved with the day to day running of a school, instead they support and challenge the school’s leadership team to drive school improvement.

Being a governor is for everyone! If your career is just starting, being a governor is a great way to build your CV and, if you are retired or moving to retirement, what a great way to keep active and use your skills!

We also provide free induction, lots of training and CPD opportunities. We really need governors who reflect our community, and we know that everyone has experience and skills they can bring to this role.

If you are over 18 and can spare time to attend around 1 meeting per half term and are willing to undertake training, then why not share your skills, knowledge and experience and become a governor!

Commitment to safeguarding

We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
