What skills and experience we're looking for

With previous experience as Head of a large department or as a senior leader in a school, you will have worked to achieve high performing outcomes. Initially focusing on raising standards within year 6 or year 11-13 you will be based in a single school for 2 to 3 terms at a time or until the trust’s improvement plans are fully embedded and having an impact. You will be based in schools 5 days per week and the flexibility to be able to relocate or live away from home is essential. Your first assignment will be based at Atlantic Academy near the beautiful Hartland Point and Clovelly. We of course cover expenses in order to allow this to happen and would be open to relocation expenses for the right candidate.

Further details about the role

This role will give the right person a chance to build and develop their existing leadership skills as part of our school improvement team. Working to embed disruption and distraction free learning, developing the curriculum and pedagogical approaches, and embedding our established raising standards plans at KS2,4,5. We also see attendance as a key strand of our school improvement plans and driving student attendance will be a key priority.

You will be working with some of the brightest minds in education and therefore you will need to be open minded and capable of learning from others. You need to be exceptionally bright, hard working, fun and engaging, have high energy and be thorough. If you don’t possess all of these qualities this job won’t make you happy and we want our staff to be happy. You need to be able to keep up, to contribute to our thinking and planning, it's why we prioritise these qualities in the recruitment of our people.
