School Improvement Officer job summary

School Improvement Officer – 2 day a week post (Temporary Fixed term contract 1 year/ secondment considered)

Reporting to the Chief Improvement Officer (CIO)

Pay Leadership Scale: Leadership 2-8

The Tilian Partnership is an alliance of 8 Suffolk primary schools. Due to the continued growth, we are expanding our school improvement team so our schools’ benefit from extended services and we can continue our track record of improving the education we offer children of Suffolk as accredited by recent Ofsted inspections.

We are seeking to appoint a highly effective Primary Practitioner with a proven track record of leading CPD for staff at all levels. You must have the vision, innovation and drive to fulfil the post of School Improvement Officer by providing advice, support and challenge to schools across the primary phase. You will join a team of school improvement professionals that support educational settings within Tilian on all aspects of learning, teaching and leadership. We pride ourselves on working

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, guidance and support to school leaders and teachers
  • Developing and securing our professional learning offer including ITT and ECT provision
  • To assist in driving educational performance across primary schools in the Trust
  • Working with the Trust senior leaders and headteachers to identify and grow best practice across schools particularly in relation to KS2 and Maths
  • Support the Trust’s schools enabling them consistently to achieve excellence for all their pupils
  • Take a lead role in a range of forums including the bespoke Newly Qualified Teacher Programme
  • Be a strong advocate for the aims and values of the Trust

Are you a robust, innovative and creative individual with motivation and drive to make a difference?

Do you have the relevant experience we are after?

  • Recent experience as a Senior leader/Headteacher
  • Evidence of sustained school improvement impact in one or more schools
  • Relevant leadership qualifications/designation e.g NPQH, NPQSL LLE, SLE
  • Experience of working with wider networks eg TSH, ITT providers, Research Schools, curriculum hubs
