Location: Challney High School for Boys
Contract Type: Permanent, Term time plus 3 weeks (41 weeks)
Hours of work: 37 hours per week. The working day to be within the core hours of 8am and 5pm.
Salary: M1 - Actual salary starting from £35,687 per annum

Challney High School for Boys is a successful and inclusive school with outstanding facilities, friendly staff and has a supportive environment.
We are looking to appoint someone to lead school support staff and work as part of the senior leadership team to assist the Head Teacher in their duty to ensure that the school meets its educational aims.
The School Manager role will be responsible for the management of the administrative support services within our school and therefore must have substantial administrative experience in previous roles. You must have previous line management experience and have strong communication skills with all stakeholders.
Applicants for this public facing post will need to demonstrate the ability to converse, and provide effective help or advice, fluently in spoken English.
Purpose of the post
1. The School Manager is one of the leading school support staff professionals and works as part of the senior leadership team to assist the Head Teacher in his/her duty to ensure that the school meets its educational aims.
2. The School Manager is responsible for providing professional leadership and management of administration support staff in partnership with the CLT central team, the Facilities Manager and other staff to ensure efficiency, consistency and compliance throughout the school and Trust.
3. The School Manager promotes the highest standards of business ethos within the administrative function of the school and strategically ensures the most effective use of resources in support of the school’s learning objectives.
4. The School Manager reviews, develops, implements and monitors the appropriate clerical and administrative support systems and structures to ensure the provision of ongoing effective management support for the smooth day-to-day running of the school’s support services.
5. The School Manager complies with and works with the Head Teacher on the strategic use of allocated funds to ensure effective staffing of the school within financial regulations, school policies, personnel procedures, service level agreements and the regulations and directives as appropriate.
6. The School Manager has overall responsibility for all non-educational support staff (including technicians). This includes regular review meetings, appraisal and development of staff to provide smooth and effective processing of the school’s day-to-day administrative business to support the school’s objectives in line with the school development plan.
