School Office Administrator job summary

The successful applicant will have great administration skills, a proven track record in working in a busy office, as well as a positive and flexible attitude and excellent communication skills.

The role is very varied, so you will need to be happy to manage a range of responsibilities including the administration of:

Pupil admissions & leavers

Submission of results

Attendance procedures

Lunches orders

HR support (including contracts, recruitment and payroll)

Safeguarding

Statutory information reporting to the DfE

Staff Training

Health & Safety

Ordering & Finance

First aid and medical needs

Organisation of volunteers & suppliers/contractors

Co-ordinating after school clubs and activities

Ideally, you will already have knowledge or skills in the following areas:

Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality

The ability to prioritise workload and multitask in a constantly changing environment

An understanding of Health and Safety within a school

An understanding of HR admin and Safer Recruitment

A working knowledge of Management Information Systems and electronic payment systems (Arbor)

A working knowledge of CPOMS

An understanding of how to promote wellbeing and keep children safe via Child Protection procedures.

Educated to A level standard, with at least a grade C/5 in Maths and English GCSE

A desire to help and support children’s wellbeing

Working hours are 32.5hrs a week, 8.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time plus two weeks, Pay Scale starts at E7, (13.26/hr).

Closing date for applications is Wednesday 30th April, and we hope to hold interviews on Friday 2nd May and Tuesday 6th May. However, applications will be considered immediately upon receipt, and interviews may be arranged before this closing date.
