We're looking for a highly organised and people-focused School Operations Manager to lead the way on all aspects of non-teaching school life. This is a full-time, term-time only position (32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year), and we're open to discussing flexible working options e.g a 0.8 contract.
About the role
As our School Operations Manager, you'll be a key member of the senior team - trusted by the Principal, relied on by colleagues and connected with Lift Schools' regional and central teams. You will work in collaboration with a very skilled school admin team to; oversee every aspect of school operations, from HR and finance to estates, IT, compliance, and health and safety. It's a broad role that touches on every part of school life - and ensures that our staff can focus on what matters most: delivering an excellent education.
What you'll do:
* Be the conduit between the school and regional teams, ensuring smooth processes and strong communication
* Lead on HR administration, including recruitment logistics, absence tracking, payroll updates and safeguarding checks
* Oversee school finances: placing orders, tracking budgets, handling banking and liaising with the central finance team
* Manage premises and estates through line management of site staff and coordination with contractors
Act as the main point of contact for IT issues, maintenance, and digital planning
* Ensure the school meets all compliance expectations in health and safety, data protection and policy updates
* Oversee catering, cleaning, marketing, school events, trips, wraparound care.
* Lead the front office team and manage internal communications, daily cover, training records and staff induction
You'll report to the Principal and sit alongside the Senior Leadership Team, contributing directly to the operational effectiveness of the school and its long-term goals. This role helps deliver Lift Schools' mission: that every child receives an excellent education, in every classroom, every day.
We're looking for someone who:
* Has experience in school operations, business management, or administrative leadership
* Brings working knowledge of HR, finance, estates or IT - and the confidence to lead others
* Has at least Level 2 qualifications in English and maths, and ideally a Level 3 or higher qualification
* Is calm, organised and flexible - with the ability to plan ahead and adapt when needed
* It's desirable (but not essential) that you've worked in a school or hold a School Business Professional qualification

We also pride ourselves on keeping pupils safe and happy to learn. Our pupils are well behaved, hard working and kind individuals who enjoy school and making progress.
