School Receptionist job summary
We are currently looking to appoint an enthusiastic, well-organised Receptionist to join our busy school office. You will require excellent communication skills, have a friendly positive attitude, be resilient, tenacious and enjoy working as part of a team.
This post is part time (17 hours per week from 1.00 to 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 1.00 to 4.00 pm on Fridays, term time only), and is on L2 Scale Points 4-5.
Main duties of the post will be answering the very busy switchboard and dealing with people (staff, pupils, parents and visitors). You must be able to demonstrate excellent administrative and communication skills, both verbal and written and be able to work well under pressure. The successful candidate will be flexible, efficient and have good working knowledge of ICT systems, desirably including SIMs. At times, during the school First Aid Officers absence, the office may be asked to cover for minor first aid issues. To this end some first aid knowledge or experience would be an advantage, as would the flexibility to work occasionally in the mornings (at short notice).
