School Secretary job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a School Secretary to join our friendly and busy office team.
The School Secretary is responsible for the organisation and smooth running of the school office, ensuring a professional, calm and efficient atmosphere is maintained and that all administrative procedures are correctly followed and effectively co-ordinated. A flexible attitude towards work and a sense of humour are essential, along with an ability to communicate effectively with pupils, staff, parents and visitors to the school. You must have the ability to work using your own initiative and as an effective team member and be well organised.
Yours hours of work will be 8am to 4pm Monday-Friday with a 45 min lunch break
The School Secretary is responsible for the administrative, and organisational processes within the School. They will also act as a main point of contact for Parents, Visitors and other stakeholders so will be an ambassador for the School and embody the vision and values of the school and Trust.
In this role you will work at the very heart of the school and play a key part in ensuring that day to day life at the school runs smoothly. The successful candidate will be able to multi task, have a great eye for detail and take great pride in making the school a happy place for our children.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A school background (this is desired but not compulsory)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a flexible approach
- The ability to work under pressure, use initiative and manage conflicting priorities
