What skills and experience we're looking for
We are excited to welcome applications from ambitious middle or senior leaders, with SEND experience who have the skills, drive and commitment to help us achieve our ambitions. The successful candidate will work closely with the SLT with a relentless focus on improving outcomes for our SEND students. They will have the skills, drive, and commitment to help us achieve our ambitions for our school, our amazing children and the community we serve.
- Experience
of teaching in primary education is essential. We are looking for
a leader who can demonstrate skills in raising standards and outcomes through
supporting teachers to provide strong classroom provision for SEND and
vulnerable students. Working with parents, families and external agencies will
be a large focus of this role. The ideal candidate will have exceptional
communication skills, excellent knowledge of external support services, be an excellent classroom practitioner and love our children.
- Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
- Understanding of what makes ‘quality first’ teaching,
- Ability to evaluate effectiveness of SEN provision
- Effective
communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills
- Teaching
experience ideally across two key stages
- Experience
of co-ordinating SEN at whole-school level
- Involvement in self-evaluation and development planning
- Experience of conducting training/leading INSET
