School Staff Instructor (SSI) for Combined Cadet Force (CCF) job summary
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to lead and inspire students through the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) programme.
The successful candidate will support students in building self confidence, resilience and leadership skills through a programme of outdoor learning, teamwork and personal challenge. The successful SSI will provide administrative support to the Contingent Commander, in order to enable both weekly training and external events and camps.
This is a unique and rewarding role, which provides opportunities to make a difference to the lives of our students, both within and beyond the classroom.

The ideal candidate will;
- Possess GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Have a previous military background (Cadets, RAF, Army Reserves)
- Have previous experience of working with children and young people
- Possess excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Have a flexible, positive and team focused approach
- Be willing to undertake additional professional development opportunities, relevant to the role
The successful SSI will be directly employed by the Academy for two days per week but alongside this, can claim up to 51 days volunteer allowance at the current MoD rate (approximately £90 per day) for additional work.
