What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for committed individuals from the local community, and from all walks of life and backgrounds to join our Schools Standards Board. We are looking for those who can share their viewpoints, experience, expertise, skills and fresh ideas to enhance the opportunities for our children and families within the community.
Your opportunity
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to join our School Standards Board (SSB) at Rosebery School and for a four year period. As an SSB member, you will contribute to and monitor the school’s development plan, which is focused on the key improvement priorities for the school. SSBs are also the Trust Board’s interface with key stakeholders: parents, staff and the community. You will be involved in gathering and responding to feedback from parents and staff, and developing and maintaining community links for the school.
SSB members provide regular feedback to the Trust Board on the performance of their school and the feedback from stakeholders, contributing to the overall improvement of the Trust. SSBs also have the opportunity to influence the strategy of the Trust as a whole.
Excellent training and support is provided and you don't need education experience.
About Rosebery School
Rosebery is a vibrant and stimulating place to work. We have a record of high performance but continually challenge all members of our community to improve further, in order to fulfil our moral purpose to provide the best possible educational experience for our students who are a delight to teach.
We set high expectations for all, but this is accompanied by a support system for students and staff which includes universal access to coaching and mentoring, significant opportunities for individualised personal, academic and professional development and a culture which emphasises kindness and integrity above all.
We are committed to creating a happy, purposeful and secure environment which provides the opportunity for all to develop and grow; to build confidence and self-belief; and to be enriched and stimulated so that everyone plays an active and positive part of the Rosebery, Epsom and wider communities. We hope that you will want to come and join our unique school community.
What we are looking for
We are looking for somebody who:
- thinks strategically, and is able to contribute to the development of the schools priorities,
- is able to listen, reflect and learn from a range of viewpoints
- is able to establish clear expectations for school leaders
- has the ability to analyse and interpret data and statistics
- has the confidence to ask questions and challenge school leaders in an appropriate way
Being a member of the School Standards Board is a rewarding one, where you will gain insight into the workings of our schools and play a part in improving outcomes for every pupil. Our school vision is that we will instil aspiration and high expectations to empower every child to become a successful citizen of the world through excellence in all that we do. Everything the SSB do has a role to play to make our vision a reality for pupils.
