Science & Core Subject Teacher job summary
1. To effectively fulfil the role of class teacher in order that all pupils of all abilities, including disadvantaged pupils, make at least good progress.
2. To provide excellent pastoral support as a form tutor
3. To plan, prepare, and deliver learning which provides consistently effective support and challenge for all learners
4. To assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils.
5. To facilitate regular and high quality home-school liaison
6. To provide appropriate pastoral support
7. To discharge all safeguarding responsibilities effectively and in line with the school’s Child Protection (Safeguarding) Policy and Procedure
8. To attend whole school, department, and teachers’ meeting as requested by the Head of School
9. To ensure pupils develop their understanding of British values and achieve strong Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural development
10. To provide senior staff with any required information necessary to up-date an individual’s statement of special educational need or EHCP
11. To effectively liaise with department staff and subject leaders as and when necessary to support learning and development
12. Continue to enhance the science curriculum in order that pupil progress and attainment is strengthened through interesting, engaging, and challenging but achievable learning
13. Manage challenging behaviour effectively and in line with whole school policy and procedure
14. Track pupil progress in science and in other taught subject in order that learning can be continuously reshaped to maximise progress, and to ensure learning gains over time are explicit.
15. To undertake any reasonable duties necessary to fulfil the role of Class Teacher and Science Teacher as required by the Head of School.
