Full Time, 39 weeks, Fixed term until 13th July 2022. To commence ASAP.
Intervention Tutors will perform a key role in supporting the College’s academic interventions for our GCSE Maths/GCSE English/A Level Science students. These are dynamic roles with a real opportunity to make a difference to students that need it the most. Working closely with the Maths/English/Science departments, you will be providing small group support for students. You will deliver a structured programme of intervention focussing on exam preparation, the use of GCSEPod and MathsWatch, as appropriate, and the development of study skills and revision techniques. You will also monitor attendance and homework of students in your groups. You will need to keep accurate records and provide regular updates to the Course Leader.
These positions are ideal for graduates with aspirations of progressing into teacher training. Although a Maths, English or Science related degree would be desirable, it is not essential providing candidates are confident in their ability to support students in GCSE Maths, GCSE English or A Level Science.
You should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with the 16-19 age group, providing supportive and motivational feedback to enable students to make progress in their GCSE subject.
