Science Laboratory Technician job summary
Kingsbury High School is a successful split site school and we are looking to recruit a suitably qualified Science Laboratory Technician to provide support for the Faculty of Science across the whole school. Science is taught to GCSE and Physics, Chemistry and Biology to AS/A2 level.
Duties will include the preparation of apparatus, materials and solutions and setting up equipment and apparatus for use in practical classes. You will also be expected to carry out demonstrations and support the teaching staff and other technicians in the Faculty.
A science background is desirable and practical skills are an essential requirement for this role together with an understanding of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.
Applicants must be able to liaise effectively with both pupils and staff and be willing to work flexibly within the school environment.
• You will have experience of working with children or young people, excellent interpersonal skills and be confident in using computers.
• You must have good communication, literacy and numeracy skills and be flexible in your approach.
• You will have appropriate qualifications or an interest in Science (GCSE/A Level or equivalent in Science subject(s) and/or demonstrate an interest in Science
The appointee will be required to complete a six-month period of probation.
