Science Teacher job summary

We are seeking to appoint two Science teachers who:
• Have a real enthusiasm for their subject and a commitment to teaching Science
• Excellent Science knowledge
• Can deliver engaging and challenging lessons that promote students’ scientific curiosity
• Are able to instill in students a love of science
• Recognise the importance of developing science capital to ensure student engagement
• Make the delivery of science skills an integral part of every lesson
• Values the contributions of all students and personalises their lessons accordingly
• Contributes to the science team, taking an active part of delivering the science intent statement
• Recognise the value of learning beyond the classroom in enhancing the understanding and experience of the world in which we live
• Are enthusiastic to work in a school which is held in high esteem by its parents and who want to further extend this reputation for excellence

Burton Borough is a vibrant and inclusive mixed Community School of 1170 students, situated on the Shropshire/ Staffordshire border within the pleasant market town of Newport.
