The William de Ferrers School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic science teacher with high ambitions for all pupils to join our dynamic and collaborative science department. William de Ferrers School is based in the centre of South Woodham Ferrers, a riverside town on the north bank of the River Crouch. The school is approximately 14 miles from the city of Chelmsford, with good rail links to London Liverpool Street.
The school is housed in a purpose built community complex which is unique in Essex, benefiting from excellent accommodation and extensive grounds.
The school was rated 'good' by Ofsted in December 2018.
William de Ferrers currently has a seven form entry with the main pastoral organisation based on a year system. Great importance is attached to high standards of conduct, dress, attitude and work. A large percentage of students stay on to join the sixth form and year 12 and 13 students are an integral part of the whole school, they make a valuable contribution to the life of the school supporting younger students across a wide range of activities.
The school is proud of its highly motivated, hard working and committed staff and runs an extensive induction scheme. We offer a wide range of CPD opportunities for all staff which encourages them to be able to continually provide an enhanced service to the school community.
