Science Teacher job summary

Synergy Multi Academy Trust

Litcham School is an ‘all through’ school which is one of 15 schools within Synergy Multi Academy Trust. Although we are an ‘all through 4-16’ school this role will largely focus on the Secondary Phase. Other Synergy secondary schools are Reepham High School & College, Sheringham High School and Stalham High School. Synergy MAT grew significantly in September 2021 when the North Norfolk Academies Trust (NNAT) merged with Synergy. Synergy already enjoys effective and productive trust wide collaboration, which is particularly strong in its primary schools, and the merger has paved the way for the next stage of collaboration between secondary schools. We expect being part of this collaboration will offer excellent opportunities for professional development at all levels, but particularly at Senior Leadership level. This enhanced collaboration is now in its third year. To find out more about Synergy MAT, please visit its website.

Science Teacher, Litcham School

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Science teacher who is able to deliver all 3 Sciences to GCSE level. This is an exceptional opportunity for candidates to work within an innovative and supportive environment.

The Science department is successful, experienced, supportive and vibrant. The department is well resourced and staff teach in their own laboratory, supported by a team of technicians. Pupils achieve strong outcomes above National levels and there is a strong emphasis on practical work. Although this is a part time position, you will have your own teaching laboratory.

This post is suitable for someone wishing to broaden their experience or an ECT. If you would like to be part of our future, working with an employer who will listen to you, challenge and support your decision making, as well as provide you with a wealth of resources to fulfil this fantastic opportunity, your application will be welcomed.

Litcham School Secondary Phase is a small to medium sized school with approx. 600 pupils. We have been heavily oversubscribed for the past few years and have had over 25 pupils on our waiting list regularly, several of whom appeal. Litcham School is well known for its smaller, family feel and ethos. We believe we combine a largely traditional curriculum with contemporary approaches to pedagogy, and were quick to embrace live online teaching during the lockdowns.

We have recently implemented a new approach to PSHE and are in the process of making Litcham School one that enjoys, promotes and champions Diversity & Equality.
