Ideally, you will be an experienced GCSE science teacher and it is essential that you have a passion for developing the best pedagogies for that age range that fosters deep understanding of the big concepts of science with great end products.

Science comes alive at School 21 as students grapple with the big ideas that underpin the world around us. Teachers plan challenging and exciting projects, develop thinking skills to a high level and foster collaborations with other subjects across the curriculum.

Our aim in the secondary school will be for students to achieve the strongest possible academic results. You will work alongside the other science teachers in an inspirational department to develop the curriculum and schemes of work. You will analyse student data to identify underachievement and develop intervention strategies to ensure all students make outstanding progress.

Since we opened in 2012 we have put learning and teaching at the heart of everything we do. We have developed a unique approach to oracy including setting up a charity, Voice 21 (https://www.voice21.org/) which is already working with several hundred schools. We have also pioneered real world, interdisciplinary learning in collaboration with a network of extraordinary organisations: creative, artistic, high tech, professional.
