Science Teacher job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join our successful Science department. Whatever your specialism, there will an opportunity to teach up to and including KS5 plus you will also be required to teach General Science to KS3. You will join a leading department in a heavily over-subscribed academy. The Science department is staffed with a mixture of experienced teachers, NQTs and three technicians, all with a commitment to continuous school improvement. We have a suite of dedicated Science laboratories, including a newly-refurbished lab and Sixth Form facilities.

You will be keen to promote the Science department and improve upon the opportunities available to our students.

Our aim is to establish a culture of excellence throughout every element of our academy and move us from Good to Outstanding.

Just 30 minutes by train from Central London, The Highcrest Academy is the first All Ability Academy in the county of Buckinghamshire. It is culturally diverse and a vibrant school making it a fantastic place to teach. We have some students who will need all your support and yet we also featured in the national Ofsted report (2016) for providing challenge to the most able.

There are approximately 1,000 students on roll, which includes the Sixth Form. A new building programme, just completed, comprises a brand-new Sixth Form Centre, sports facilities including a gym, and a new restaurant and coffee shop for both students and staff. We also have a thriving House system that brings our whole school community together.
