What skills and experience we're looking for
Personal Specification:
You should be an excellent classroom practitioner and have students at the heart of your decision making. You must also have good knowledge of the Science curriculum and the recent national changes that have taken place. We are looking for somebody who is creative and dynamic in the classroom and is able to engage a wide range of students. This role is suitable for both ECTs, who would benefit from a comprehensive range of support and guidance, and more experienced teachers alike.

In May 2025, our brand new state-of-the-art Science refurbishment, costing £3.48 million will be complete! Every Science teacher will have their own teaching laboratory, and we are excited to build on the department’s excellent outcomes from August 2024: 88% of students achieved grade 4s or higher across the Triple and Combined routes including 27 grade 9s.
The department has an exceptional track record of providing ambition and challenge for our young people; last year 52% of our Year 11 cohort were entered for Triple Science.
