What skills and experience we're looking for

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Science Department as a Science Technician. Each day you will provide administrative and technical support to the Science Department to ensure that all apparatus and equipment is available and set up to meet the daily timetable requirements covering KS3 to KS4.

The working hours are from 8.00am to 4.00pm, with a 3.30pm finish on Fridays, during the school term. You will also be paid for an additional 5 days per year, which enables you to attend team meetings, training and development that sits outside your normal working hours. You will be paid on Scale Point 4 which is £23114 full time equivalent. Your actual salary is £19850 per annum dependant on our start date, based on working 37 hours per week, and this is paid in 12 equal instalments over the year so even when it is the summer holidays, you continue to receive the same payment that month.

We are looking for an experienced science technician who is very organised, is confident with cleaning and maintaining equipment and stock levels, and is an effective team worker with a helpful and positive attitude in a busy environment.

The Snaith School is part of The Education Alliance and we are proud of our reputation for academic success, traditional values and strong pastoral care. Rooted in our local community, we are a school of 860 students, educating students from Snaith and a number of surrounding villages. We are small enough to feel like a family and we pride ourselves on knowing and appreciating our students as individuals. However, we are also large to offer a wide and exciting curriculum in both KS3 and KS4, run numerous sports teams and invite the community in to school to enjoy one of our many productions and/or concerts.

We are at the heart of our community, opening doors to great opportunities and happy, successful lives.

We do this by: working hard, supporting and trusting each other to always do what is right; by being kind, helpful and considerate and seeing the best in everyone; having the highest expectations of ourselves and others.
