We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Technician to join our vibrant Science department at Carleton High School. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting high‑quality teaching and learning by helping to deliver safe, well‑organised and engaging practical science experiences for our students.
As a Science Technician, you will:
- Support practical lessons by preparing, setting up and clearing away equipment and materials.
- Maintain an organised, safe and purposeful working environment across laboratories, preparation rooms and storage areas.
- Manage stock, including chemicals and specialist equipment, ensuring resources are well maintained and readily available.
- Support students and teachers during practical activities, including demonstrating safe and effective use of equipment where required.
- Contribute to the smooth running of the department through effective administration, resource management and adherence to Health and Safety procedures.
We are seeking someone who is flexible, proactive and able to use their initiative. You should be well‑organised, detail‑focused and committed to supporting excellent learning experiences. The ability to build positive relationships with both students and colleagues is essential.
You don’t need previous technician experience as full training will be given. This role does not require a teaching qualification and is ideal for anyone considering a future route into teaching training or those with an interest in science education.

- Term time only + 2 days
- 192 working days per year
