Science Technician job summary

We are an ambitious Trust with a relentless desire to improve the educational outcomes and lives of the young people in our local communities. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Science Technician at The Sixth Form College Farnborough.

The successful candidate will work within a team of technicians supporting a varied range of science courses. This role involves setting out, maintaining and replenishing solutions, materials and equipment required for demonstrations and class practical work.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:-

  • A passion for science and enthusiasm to learn new skills;

  • High levels of attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions;

  • Strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to work;

  • A positive commitment and enthusiasm for working with 16-18 year old students;

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate to students, staff and external companies.

The role

  • Start Date: August 2022

  • Contract type: Permanent

  • Hours per week: 25-30 hours per week

  • Shift pattern: Term-time only, Monday-Friday
