Are you passionate about supporting the next generation of scientists? We are looking for a motivated, organised, and proactive Science Technician to join our outstanding grammar school. As a Science Technician, you'll be working closely with the Senior Technician and our talented teaching staff to support science lessons. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining the high standards of our science department and ensuring that both students and staff have everything they need for a successful learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation, setup, and clearing of science practicals and demonstrations.
  • Ensure the smooth running of extra-curricular science activities and experiments.
  • Support the team by maintaining and cleaning scientific equipment, ensuring it's ready for use.
  • Perform routine health and safety checks to ensure compliance with school regulations.
  • Conduct maintenance and inspection of science equipment to keep everything in top condition.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of inventory, equipment, and other necessary documentation.
  • Assist with stocktaking in coordination with the Senior Technician to ensure the lab is well-supplied.
  • Collaborate with other members of the science support team to create an efficient working environment.
  • Participate in school-wide and department meetings as necessary to stay connected and informed.
