Science Technician job summary
SCIENCE TECHNICIAN
KINGSBURY GREEN ACADEMY
Hours: 15-22 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Working within a small team of experienced Technicians and under the guidance of a Senior Technician, this role will support students aged 11 to 19 in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The role will give practical, technical service to members of teaching staff through the preparation and provision of equipment, apparatus and chemicals for experiments and demonstrations. The role is busy, varied, with no two days the same.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience of working in science laboratories or a related area. Whilst this experience would be an advantage, it is not essential as full training will be provided. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to work effectively within a team and under their own initiative.
There is a degree of flexibility about how the hours will be spread over a working week and the daily working patterns can be discussed at interview.
