Science Technician, Level 3 

Pay Band G / SCP 18-22 £25,927- £27,514 pro rata per annum (actual salary £22,388 - £24,371) 

37 hours per week / Term time + 2 weeks (40 weeks in school – a small amount of work during school holidays will be required)

 To commence as soon as possible The Governing Body of The Prescot School wish to appoint a keen, enthusiastic and highly motivated Science Technician who has a good record of academic achievement, good IT skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing equipment and chemicals for lessons and class demonstrations
  • Ensure apparatus and chemicals are maintained, stored and disposed of appropriately
  • Adhere to rigorous health and safety standards (CLEAPSS)
  • Stock taking / stock management
  • Retrieving and putting away equipment.
  • Provision of First aid (training will be provided)

Although other relevant experience will also be considered, experience of working in a school or industry laboratory environment is highly desirable. Technicians plays a vital role in the day to day running of our Science Department and it is essential that the successful candidate is confident in providing technical assistance and student support in a classroom/laboratory environment.
