We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Science Technician at Orchard School Bristol to work Monday - Friday between 9/9.30am and 2/2.30pm. Precise hours can be agreed at interview.

The role of the Science Technician is to organise and deliver technical assistance and support activities to the Science Faculty staff so they can deliver practical activities and a broad curriculum offer.

Knowledge of the sciences along with practical experience is desirable, so you will have studied Science to GCSE level, and you may have science A levels/degree, or have experience working as a technician already. You will work alongside the Senior Science Technician who will provide training and support as required.

Duties will include preparation of chemicals and materials and the cleaning of equipment for whole class practical work and demonstrations. You should have knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.

This role would particularly suit a person with laboratory experience or a science graduate considering moving into teaching or education work in the future. The ability to speak a community language in addition to English is warmly welcomed.
