Science Technician job summary

You will work as a valued member of a successful Science Department to provide technical support to the staff and students. Experience and knowledge of the core sciences would be an advantage but commitment, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and develop are essential to this role.

You will need to have excellent organisational skills and have the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team. All applicants must be numerate and literate, have a good standard of general education and a minimum of A*-C GCSE in Science. Other skills we would be looking for in our Science technician include:

Experience of working in a practical environment

Ability to work to your own initiative

Flexible and adaptable approach to problem solving

Good communication skills

Saltley Academy is a 11-16 comprehensive school in the heart of multi-cultural Birmingham.
