We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Science Technician to provide technical support to teachers in our well-equipped Science Department.
As a key factor in the success of our Science department, you will help to ensure the smooth running of the department by:
- Setting up classroom equipment and materials.
- Ensuring maintenance and care of stock and equipment.
- General administration with the technician’s role.
- Be a named First Aider and help to ensure that all members of the science department follow Health and safety procedures.
- Supporting the overall work of the science department.
- Carrying out administrative tasks to support teachers.
We are looking for:
We are seeking to appoint a committed team player who is highly motivated and has effective practical, administrative, organisational and communication skills, along with a sense of humour. The role will suit someone who is able to multi-task, has the willingness to learn and develop and is flexible and adaptable in their approach.
Relevant experience of working as a Science Technician or in a science laboratory or similar setting would be desirable but full training will be provided.

The Burgate School and Sixth Form converted to a Single Academy Trust in May 2011.
