What skills and experience we're looking for
5 GCSEs including Maths and English (minimum grade 4 or equivalent)
Relevant qualification in Science or related subject (ideally level 5 or above)
Working knowledge of health and safety including COSHH
Working knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and codes of practices
Good knowledge of up-to-date techniques, materials, and equipment relevant to the National Curriculum
Experience of working within a Science department
Experience of working within a school or similar environment
Experience of working with the relevant age range
Experience of managing stock control and record keeping
Experience of budget management
Ability to demonstrate and inspire a passion for Science
Ability to manage pupil behaviour and create a safe environment
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and pupils
Ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet deadlines and work under pressure
Ability to use ICT and other specialist equipment
Ability to deal with a wide range of stakeholders using multiple forms of communication

An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Science Technician to provide technical support to teaching staff and ensure a safe and clean working environment to facilitate high-quality teaching within the faculty.
- Assist teachers with preparation of resources and equipment for lesson delivery on a dailybasis
- Assist in lessons as required during practical sessions
- Develop apparatus and equipment for use in practical sessions and provide technical advice and assistance to teaching staff as required regarding resources for practical work and demonstrations
- Carry out practical demonstrations in the classroom as required
