Contract: Permanent
Hours: 23.75 hours, 39 weeks (term time plus one week)
Working pattern: Monday – Friday, 12pm – 4.45pm
Salary: Pathway 4 - £15,900 - £16,975, (FTE £28,624 - £30,559) per annum

Your role:
As a Seclusion Officer within the Walford Centre at Thomas Deacon Academy (TDA), you will maintain a calm and focused environment for students isolated from mainstream lessons. Your compassion and confidence will support students in reflecting on their behaviour and making better choices.
You will establish a safe and focused space, reinforce behaviour expectations, and conduct reflective sessions with students. Additionally, you will assist in repairing relationships, ensure students have access to their work, and keep accurate records and reports.
To succeed, you need a Level 2 qualification in Maths and English, practical IT skills, and the ability to manage conflict and prioritise tasks. Strong communication skills and experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting, are essential.

The Walford Centre at TDA is part of the school's Appropriate Provision which is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all students. This is a small provision that is part of the main Academy which focuses upon bespoke support to ensure students are ready to access the main Academy and realign their past poor behaviour choices. It focuses on offering specialised support and resources to allow students to overcome barriers to learning ensuring they have the necessary tools and assistance to thrive academically and personally.
