Salary: Grade C - £21,190 - £22,215 FTE (dependent on experience)

What skills and experience we're looking for

The role will include:

• To be able to work as part of a team

• Use own initiative but in line with Nexus ethos

• To be flexible and adapt to change and work effectively in a variety of situations

• To be a good communicator

• Possess good IT skills

• To maintain a friendly and supportive environment

• To keep up to date with trends in education and being aware of current official guidance as well as engaging with in house continued professional learning through “Learning at Cams Hill”

• Identifying pupils who would benefit from some alternative provision or support

• Liaising with pupils, parents/carers, subject teachers, Curriculum Leaders, Heads of Year and the Senior Leadership Team

• Delivering a mixture of stand-alone, alternative curriculum courses that can lead to accreditation, and some consolidation lessons that will support pupils’ learning in mainstream lessons

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and reviewing provision with Nexus Lead

• Specialist knowledge of learning difficulties and conditions such as ADHD, PDA, ASD

• Experience of teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs or other capacity (youth work, counselling or similar)
