We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated Second in Department, to support the leadership of our Maths Faculty. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom teacher, with the ability to teach maths across all key stages, including A Level. In addition, the successful candidate will be pivotal in developing the quality of teaching and learning within the faculty, taking a key coaching role.

This post offers a fantastic opportunity for a teacher looking for their first middle leadership position, or a current middle leader looking to broaden their leadership experience. We are committed to continuous professional learning and offer both internal and external leadership training including the NPQML and NPQSL programmes, leader profiling and shadowing opportunities. Coaching is embedded within our school to support and develop leadership potential and career progression for all staff. In addition, we actively promote opportunities for Trust wide working and collaboration across the trust, this is integral to our development.

The Maths Faculty at St Katherine’s is a supportive and dedicated team, committed to developing their pedagogy and sharing the very best practice across the team. We believe that Maths is an exciting subject and numeracy should be central to a young person’s curriculum. We seek to deliver lessons which challenge all students, underpinned by Rosenshine principles. The student lies at the heart of the assessment process and we use a wide range of formative and summative approaches to support learning.

We are ambitious for every child. We have introduced a mastery scheme of work at KS3 and offer students the opportunity to study Level 2 Further Maths at GCSE. At A Level, we offer both Maths and Further Maths. We provide a number of enrichment opportunities based around STEM to inspire and motivate mathematicians for the future.
