What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Able to teach Maths up to KS4
  • Recent experience preferably gained in 2ic role, or ready to take that step
  • Has an understanding of the role of literacy and reading in mathematics
  • Knowledge of use of performance data to track student progress and monitor achievement.
  • Proven track record of raising educational standards
  • Can motivate students at all levels of ability, thus ensuring that all students fully access the Maths curriculum
  • Will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with an excellent track record of progress and results
  • Ability to inspire, demonstrate and support the highest of expectations for all
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others; both colleagues and students •Positive student behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Will have knowledge of the National Curriculum, GCSE and A-Level specifications
  • Will demonstrate high level communication and literacy skills
  • Has keen organisational, time-management and multi tasking skills

Are you an experienced and passionate Mathematics teacher ready to take on a leadership role? Are you committed to fostering a love for numbers, problem-solving, and critical thinking in students? We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Second in Charge of Maths to join our exceptional team.

We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for their subject and a commitment to developing effective teaching approaches. You will be able to inspire and motivate students of all abilities to achieve their full potential, and will have a deep interest in the latest pedagogical techniques and technologies.

Our Mathematics department uses adaptive teaching strategies and multiple representations to drive the understanding of our students. We are committed to our professional development and at least half of every department meeting is spent on subject specific CPD.
