The Academy opened in September 2012 on the site of the predecessor school. Maltings academy is an oversubscribed school at the heart of its local community. We have excellent transport links to London which enables our staff and young people to take full advantage of the wealth of opportunities that London provides.We are looking for a second in charge of Maths to join our excellent team of professionals to support the Head of Subject in leading the team. The Maths department is made up of 6 qualified teachers who work collaboratively to ensure that planning and resources are shared.The Maths curriculum is delivered through 7 lessons a fortnight at KS3 and 8 lessons a fortnight at KS4. Students engage in specifically sequenced lessons from an assessment led and knowledge mapped SoL and teachers use 'The Mastery Flow Model' of representation, fluency, probing questions, further extension and rich tasks. The progression through the five stages of 'The Mastery Flow Model' allows students to develop confidence, deep understanding and retention of information.
