Second in Department: Business Studies and Economics job summary
We are seeking to appoint a skilled and highly motivated professional to join the department from January 2022 in a supportive and team-orientated school graded as ‘Good’ in all categories. (Ofsted June 2018).
Our Business Studies department has grown in strength with the current team and we are looking for a passionate and driven individual with strong interpersonal and team working skills to contribute to the current teaching and learning strategies and to support the head of department in further developing the growth in popularity the subject has enjoyed in recent. We teach GCSE and BTEC Level 2 pathways at Key Stage 4, as well as Level 3 BTEC pathway at Key Stage 5. We also teach Economics at A level.
The successful candidate will deliver quality lessons to students in KS4 and KS5. You will be someone with a passion for their subject and be able to deliver lessons that will inspire and engage our students. You will join a committed, hardworking and friendly department who work closely together to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students.
The role includes leadership responsibility, specifically:
• Supporting the head of department in the day-to-day running of the department,
• Coordinating the Duke of Edinburgh Award program,
• working as lead practitioner for BTEC Business courses,
• maintaining and developing links with local businesses.
