What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Burgess Hill Academy and we are seeking to appoint an inspirational Second in Department in English, who is committed to supporting the provision of outstanding learning experiences for all our studentsto enable them to develop as confident, independent individuals.

We are looking for:

  • a specialist committed to the progress of all students in English, who will develop and lead an exciting English curriculum which enables the highest level of student progress and attainment, and is an example of best practice for others
  • someone to support the Subject Leader of English on a day to day basis and work with staff on developing their teaching practice and pedagogy
  • someone with enthusiasm, presence and authority who can deliver consistently good or better lessons
  • a team member who will collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best progress for all students
