What skills and experience we're looking for
Start your journey into leadership.
Following the successful promotion of our Second in Department, we seek an experienced teacher to join our successful Mathematics department.
You will join a leading department, accommodated in one of our newer buildings, that produces exceptional outcomes in a heavily oversubscribed academy. The department is staffed with experienced teachers with a shared vision and commitment to continuous school improvement.
Are you a team player and passionate about education and social mobility? Do you want to be a pivotal part of improving opportunities for students, increasing their learning and social experiences? Do you want to work in an environment which prioritises staff and student health and well-being? Then please apply now!
Please note we will be reviewing applications on an ongoing basis; therefore, early applications are encouraged.
What the school offers its staff
Highcrest offers a comprehensive induction and support programme for experienced members of staff as well as a personalised CPD plan to support developing leaders and outstanding teachers.
“Staff feel very well supported by senior leaders. According to staff, they feel valued because senior leaders are approachable…”. Ofsted Report February 2020
A thriving and friendly academy in the heart of the community, with staff recognition schemes, free gym and staff sports teams, to counter the free breakfast, “Friday Treats” and on-site coffee shop! We also offer the possibility of shared staff living accommodation and on-site parking.
Further details about the role
Our Ofsted Report 2020 says, “The school has a warm and welcoming atmosphere” and “Pupils at The Highcrest Academy happily live up to the school’s motto of ‘aspire and achieve’”.
Situated in the leafy Chilterns and within easy reach of Central London, Highcrest is culturally and academically diverse and is the only academy in Buckinghamshire that caters for students of ‘all abilities’. Some of our students need all your support, whilst others need to be challenged and stretched. Our inclusive and successful House system, a wide range of clubs, visits and trips helps to bring our whole school community together.
There are approximately 1,000 students on roll, including the Sixth Form. Recent additions to our site include a gym and restaurant/coffee shop for both staff and students, as well as a purpose-built Sixth Form Centre.
Commitment to safeguarding
The Highcrest Academy is fully committed to safeguarding children (policies on web). All members of staff are in a “regulated” role under the Vetting & Barring Scheme and have to be DBS cleared prior to employment.
