Bohunt School Wokingham (BSW) is looking to appoint highly motivated, dynamic and innovative individuals with the desire to be part of a brand new school; to help shape, open and ensure the success of our new-build secondary school. The school opened in September 2016 with Year 7, growing to a roll of 1200 students, aged 11-16, in September 2020, with a final phase addition of a sixth form to follow.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be play an active part of the development and direction of the school as it grows, with rich opportunities for professional and career development both within the school and across the wider Academy Trust. Interest in the new school has been high. We are heavily oversubscribed and as a new and growing school, this represents a unique opportunity for a teacher who is looking to take full advantage of the opportunities available and develop themselves professionally.
This is a rare and exciting challenge for an ambitious and imaginative candidate to join us as we build on a fantastic first 5 years. Beginning with year 7 there has been the freedom to design and evolve the curriculum without the restraints of what is already there and the opportunity to create a unique, innovative and rich educational climate, supported by the infrastructure of a hugely successful Trust.
You will need to demonstrate a commitment to sustaining academic excellence, helping every child succeed and the potential to be an excellent classroom practitioner. As well as being able to; work as part of a team, roll up your sleeves and inspire others to excel.
In the past 5 years Bohunt Wokingham has developed a reputation at County and National Level for Sport, with Girls Football winning the National Cup in 2018 and the British Championships in 2019. It is essential that you will need to commit to the thriving extra-curricular program, taking teams across a range of sports and age groups.
Physical Education is extremely popular as a Key Stage 4 option, with 16 exam classes anticipating from September 2020. The department offer Physical Education GCSE (AQA), Sport Activity and Fitness BTEC Tech (Pearson), GCSE Dance (AQA), Health and Social Care BTEC (Pearson).
The South of England based Bohunt Educational Trust has evolved from Bohunt School in Hampshire, which is rated Outstanding in every category by Ofsted and the Times Educational Supplement School of the Year 2014. BET's educational philosophy is encapsulated by three short verbs: Enjoy, Respect and Achieve.
